School Nutrition: Breakfast & Lunch

Students are welcome to bring in lunch from home or participate in the school’s lunch program. DATE Academy participates in the National School Breakfast and Lunch Program.

                                          School Meals

Students are required to either pay for meals or be determined eligible to receive free or reduced-price meal benefits.

All students may apply to receive free or reduced price meals at DATE Academy by completing an online School Meals Application. Your child’s completed application could help our school receive potential funding for our programs, so we ask that all families complete a new application each school year.

DATE Wellness Policy
DATE Academy recognizes the important role that schools play in the development of children’s lifelong health habits, their ability to learn, and their overall well-being. Schools can improve the health of students not only by educating them about the importance of healthy behaviors but also by implementing policies and creating environments that facilitate those behaviors. Therefore, GLOBE establishes the following policy to promote the health and wellness of students and staff and to ensure its schools comply with those standards established by federal and state law.                                 Triennial Assessment

According to the USDA Final Rule, Local Educational Agencies (LEAs) must conduct a comprehensive assessment of the Local School Wellness Policy (LSWP) by June 30, 2021. The Triennial Assessment (TEA) requires LEAs to assess compliance with their LSWP and to make this assessment available to the public. The Triennial Assessment is comprised of four components:

Comparison to a model LSWP

The extent of compliance for all schools with the District LSWP

Progress made in attaining the goals of the wellness policy

Triennial Assessment report to the public

We hope that the results of the triennial assessment help to outline the efforts underway at DATE. Click here to view the Triennial Assessment SY21.
